The exercise I have for you in the video above is one that I treasure very much. It’s a Qi-Gong standing meditation that done on a regular basis opens our whole body, heart and mind up. It is cleansing and energizing and gets us balanced and rooted.
You can practise anywhere, still I do prefere to practise outside in nature. It is also a great idea to practise amongst trees or even facing a single tree closely; trees naturally do exactly what we are learning in this exercise, so they are perfect supporters.
Enjoy this practise and integrate it into your life and you will benefit from a raised energy level. It’s good do do it for at least 20 minutes. Take your time practising, don’t push yourself to results, just keep practising. It’s worth it. You will open up more and more. This kind of meditation can open parts of you that have been hidden and closed for a long time and therefor can arouse emotional reactions while blockades are desolved. I feel it is best to let this happen and dissolve whatever there is to dissolve just by letting the energy-flow do it’s job. Theres no need to push things. What you can’t get flowing today you will next week.
Check on your stance every now and then, and check your breathing to see whether you are still breathing into your belly in a relaxed way. Beginning with this exercise it is helpful to use a mirror to see how you are really standing. Often the way we think we are standing and the way we are really standing can be quite a way apart.
Have loads of fun doing this great energizing meditation!
Watch the video first and then use the following checklist to quickly make sure you are doing it right:
– feet parallel, hip- to shoulder-width apart
– knees bent
– hip tilted forward, straightening the lumbar curve out
– back upright
– shoulders relaxed, and hanging
– belly hanging, chest relaxed
– palms facing backwards
– neck straightend, head pulled up as if hanging on a string
– tongue touching upper gum behind front teeth
– breath naturally into your belly
Get outside and move to your roots!
