OCCUPY YOUR LIFE! and world non-smoking

I wasn’t always as fit and trained as I am now; and not as happy either. I’ve always been a spiritual person and also have always loved being in nature, but it seems that in the past I found all sorts of reasons not to fully engage in life. Although I have always been a very active person, I very well got to know the feeling of living life as a victim of circumstances, whatever these might be. There is no need to be ashamed of experiencing life this way; some of us do have more obvious obstacles to cope with and these can call for a great decision of power and full engagement to manage. But to move on in life and develope positively, these obstacles have to be taken; and the less we manage to think about it and the more spontaneous we are, the easier they are to take.

When I stopped smoking in 2010 I met a very spontaneous decision. I had been a heavy smoker for over 20 years. Quitting smoking had been thematised when talking to my wife Melanie for quite a while. But she gave me the spontaneous impulse by suggesting I don’t wait, but just don’t light the cigarette I had just rolled for myself. I had to swallow first and thought about it for a sec because I wanted the smoke, but inside I accepted the challenge. I experienced 10 days of agression, depression and feeling very sad, but I never lit that cigarette. That was four years ago and I still am free from my old addiction! Today I think that was one of the best things I did, stopping this endless circle of addiction.

Up until then I was living an unhealthy life, It had got a bit better since 2007 when I got together with Melanie, but I was still a long way from creating a clean temple for my spirit to live in. When I stopped smoking I began to run and exercise, I have done to this day and have become really fit. I haven’t been as fit as I am now since I was 17 or so, if I really was as fit then. With stopping the partying and getting wasted that I did a lot till I was 35+ and quitting the tobacco with 38 I began to feel a real urge to get outside in nature and exercise, also I felt I needed good natural foods more and more. So today I get enough exercise and I eat well because my body wants me to do this, so it becomes easy to do. This was a great new step toward occupying my life. Instead of being controlled by addiction or the fear to move, I occupy my life by taking control of the sacred ship, my body. and looking after it.

Today I feel I’m getting there, where I’d like to be so that I can take new steps and do new things. Being fit and rooted opens your mind and heart for lot’s more. I feel I will do all sorts of great and crazy things in my life now. I look forward to all of it. No-one should occupy your life accept you yourself and the heavenly love you let in!

Get outside and move to your roots! Occupy your life!
