Autumn Equinox – Celebrating Life!

Autumn Equinox – Celebrating Life!

THREEYesterday was September, 21st. That means it was autumn equinox; the day when the nighttime catches up with the daytime and we have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. So last night was the night in which the darkness started to take over and we begin hreading for the time of year to get cozy in ourselves, in our houses, with our friends and families.

Naturally we have done all our sowing, have now been harvesting; we’ve done our creating for this year, lived our dreams, we’ve made lot’s of things happen and work. Now symbolically we have enough wood ready to chop for the winter, have grown enough food, we are full of the summer’s energy and sunlight. Now we can start relaxing and getting everything prepared and set up so that the winter can come.

Now we can get prepared to easily slide into the dark time of the year and get cozy with our friends and family, to step inside of ourselves more and find our roots in the depths of our unconcious which we can open up to ourselves. We can get ready for the dreamtime of year when we will reflect on what we’ve lived during the year and also dreaming on towards next year. In the winter we can get in touch with our ancestors, that is all what we are now slowly heading for. But before it all comes to that we have quite a bit of time to enjoy the wonderful coming autumn, kicking through the colourful leaves on a blustery windy day, wearing sweaters again to protect ourselves from the wind; we can enjoy the leaves turn into bright reds and yellows, the wind blowing through us while we’re outside. The earth will be going through a transformation, beginning to close everything up and go back inside it’s self and back underground.

Yesterday was a very special day for us because it was Artur’s birthday. He is an equinox-child and is now three years old.He is everso proud to be three. We had a great birthday-start into the day, got up, sang `happy birthday´, then he blew three candles out on his own and was thrilled to find a few prezzies. Because he had wished to have a birthday ice-cream we went to town with him for that and took our time to enjoy him enjoying. Now comes the magickal equinox story.

To celebrate with friends we had arranged to meet about 35 people down in the park at three o’clock where we planned a birthday picnic with loads of space for the kids to run around, with a playground to play on and animals to look at.. perfect. But at 20 to three the sky quickly darkened and it started pelting with rain. We thought `NO´, it looked like everything was going to become a lot more complicated. Artur had reached the point where he was so bouncy and full of energy that he needed to get outside and get some real exercise and we imagined how it was going to be having everyone come to our home for which we were not at all prepared.

Everyone came and it was wonderful. It was so tight that only about two thirds could sit and the others stood around with food and drink in their hands chatting and enjoying. The children got themselves together in no time and found a place to play in such a harmonic manner that we grown-ups took turns in having a quiet peek round the corner. All in all it seems that we were a lot more intimate and close with each other than we might have been outside in good weather with loads of space around us. And the harmony amongst the children was amazing.

My moveroot slogan is `Get outside and move to your roots! yesterday it was turned around for me in a wonderful way. Instead of being outdoors to get rooted I had to step outside of my mindset of how things were going to have to be and let myself become rooted indoors in a wonderful living community. What a wonderful equinox-gift!

Get outside and move to your roots!
