Find your magickal time of day!

I was out for a 12k run the other day. The weather was damp but pretty warm for the time of year and it was late afternoon by the time I managed to get out for my run. I’d done an intensive body-weight workout in the morning, so this run was just going to clear my mind and system for the coming week.

As I was running I went through different phases physically and mentally. I always do. Very often for example after about three km, there’s this little voice asking why I do it. Although I was really looking forward to the run this little voice tries to tell me that what I’m doing is quite a strain. At the same time, my body is still finding it’s natural rhythm of moving and breathing. I know this little voice-guy and so I don’t bother to listen, because I know he’s not getting me anyway. After about 5-7k I am so much in my own natural rhythm, that my body begins to flow and I often feel slightly ecstatic. If you do see me running, you’ll likely see me grinning a bit. It really clears me up. After about 7k I usually pick up a little bit of speed.

Because of my family’s rhythm, that is really that of my kids, the past few years I’ve been running earlier in the day most of the time. But I do have a special time of day where my workouts outdoors give me a real kick. It’s dusk. On this last run I got into this energy again. As the sun was no longer visible but it’s fading light was preventing the nightfall, there was nothing throwing a shadow any more, the magic began. Again and again I have worked out or been running in this wonderful moment between day and night, and it always takes me away and resets me. I’m sure that this is my magickal time of day. My body becomes light and flushed with vibrating energy, I usually forget myself and what I’m doing for a while and then, remembering who I am and what I’m doing I have to laugh, as I realize this feeling of connection and strength rushing through me. This is my time of day for generating power.

I’m sure that everyone has a special time of day; a time in which they find it easier to generate power than at any other time. I believe it is worth finding out which time of day is yours. It’s the time in which you get into your flow easily. It can be like a kind of light trance and really inspire you and fill you with energy to find this out. yours can be any time, this is very individual. Some crave the dawn, I love dawn, but it doesn’t raise my energy in the same way. It could be any time of day or night for you. Find it out by being aware of yourself and letting your magickal time find you.
