Tuning your movement in with nature
When we work out our bodies or go out to move, we have the choice of what we do and how and where we do it. Our decision on what, where, how greatly influences our results. These results have great impact on our liability to get injured. Personally I do most of my training outdoors in nature, and I try to vary the kind of training very much.
When we work out in sterile environments, like gyms, we can build up strength, endurance, speed and more, especially if we do functional training.
But exercising out in nature gives our bodies a lot of irregular impulses that no gym can. There are so many factors that influence every exercise we do. Beginning with the temperature, the weather and how strong the wind is, on to the composition of the ground we’re moving on, the shape and structure of what we climb or lift, and so on.
The diversity that nature offers us helps build up our immune system and prepare our bodies to react properly in any physical situation, so reducing the risk of injury. We become extremely adaptable.
Enjoy my video below, one of my easier and playful outings and a few words on the subject.
