Mobility – gaining and keeping max range of movement

20160807_meskyWhat is mobility for us? Nowadays it’s getting from A to B whenever we want, and fast. It’s having a car, having a mobile, being online. Maybe choosing when and where we do our job. But how mobile are we body-wise?

Mobility just seems to be within the most of us in young years. Then, as time passes, we fail to realize that it is slowly slipping through our fingers, until we begin to notice that we get injured more easily, or we remember things we used to be able to do and can no longer. After passing 30, most of us remember to have been more mobile sometime in our past.

But is that the way it’s supposed to be? I think not. In our former lives as hunters and gatherers, our bodies were conditioned to do a variety of things with our bodies, that most of us find hard to do today, for as long as we lived. Next to extended phases of recreation and relaxation, there were many moves we had to be able to perform, sprints, lifting heavy weights, a great variety of functional movements that allowed us to successfully forage and hunt. This is what our bodies were designed to do. And to keep healthy, this is what we should do with our bodies. So it is always worth a round of intensive training, weightlifting and so on. Also, it is always a great idea to push our mobility, the range we can move and reach just using our coordination and muscular strength.

In the video below I absolve a series of movements that will hopefully give you an idea of what I mean by full mobility.
The bunch of exercises is not a standard set to work out with, but just what came to me at the moment. There a many more things to do that might suite you better.
If we don’t keep on extending our movement to the max every now and again, our bodies lazily think that what we do is all we need, and that’s what they adapt to. We lose our moving capacity. But we can retrain it.

I hope you enjoy my little film, and I think you’ll get an idea of what I mean.

After all, Yes, it was my choice to read, nonetheless I genuinely thought you would have something helpful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of crying about something that you could fix if you weren’t too busy looking for attention.”
